Accessories and art made with love on the Isle of Wight
Breezy Day: dramatic framed seascape with raised glass pebbles emulating surf and sand
Tactile Shores: a deliciously touchy-feely pendant inspired by rocky beaches and breaking waves
Linzi Mathews began working with glass in 2006 after attending a short course in Brighton. She had tried other arts and crafts over the years – and still does - but after discovering glass, she knew that she had ‘come home’ in the artistic sense. Her other love is photography, dating back to the age of 13 when she was given a second-hand 35mm camera. After a long career in the public sector, early retirement in 2015 enabled her to spend more time on creative interests. In July 2017 she took part in the Isle of Wight Open Studios event for the first time.
Linzi believes that absolutely anyone can be creative; it is just a case of finding the craft or medium that is right for them. Her main inspirations are the changing seasons and the seaside.
